TCHRD Releases 2016 Annual Report on Human Rights Situation in Tibet

The Tibetan Center for Human Rights and Democracy (TCHRD) based in Dharamsala, North India released the 2016 Annual Report on Human Rights Situation in Tibet at a press conference on February 23, 2017.

In an interview with VOA, Tsering Tsomo, the director of TCHRD, says that the report highlights tightened controls over the right to freedom of expression, opinion, privacy, religion, and assembly. In addition, it focuses on the substantial barriers faced by Tibetans in accessing the Chinese justice system due to PRC’s politicized and emasculated judiciary.

The report is available in English and Tibetan languages.
