Young Tibetan Detained for Shouting Long Live Dalai Lama


According to Golog Jigme, a former political prisoner now residing in Switzerland, on January, a 20-year old Tibetan named Sonam Tashi was detained by Chinese police after he shouted the slogan, 'Long live the Dalai Lama and Tibetans want freedom' while putting on prayer flags in the market of Serta County in Eastern Tibet.

Right after Tashi's slogan against the Chinese government took place, he was taken away by Chinese police. So far, there is no any information of his whereabouts and conditions.

His family members went to various government offices to find out about Tashi and efforts have not been successful.
