Tibetans all over the world are providing financial support to the individuals and businesses affected by the recent fire that destroyed the Tibetan refugee sweater seller's market in front of Red Fort (Lal Qila) in New Delhi last week.

On the request of the Dharamsala based Central Tibetan Administration, Tibetan Youth Congress, and victims of the fire accident in Delhi, Tibetans are giving donations to the affected traders in Delhi since the news of the fire broke out.

While many local organizations and associations have undertaken donation drive for the victims in their respective areas, individuals have initiated online petitions to raise funds.

Tenzin Kalden, the President of Regional Tibetan Youth Congress (RTYC) tells VOA that the organization has raised around $12,500 for the victims thus far. Other organizations such as, Regional Tibetan Youth Congress Toronto and Minnesota, California’s Team Tibet, and Regional Tibetan Women’s Association have also raised money for the victims.
