Choekhor Duechen, and Its Significance for Buddhists
Interview with Khenpo Tsultim of Tibetan Meditation Center, MD. on the Buddhist festival, observed August 6th this year, the First Turning of the Dharma Wheel or Choekhor Duechen in Tibetan. Khenpo said that this Buddhist festival is most significant considering that without the teachings that followed since that first teaching, the Buddha dharma would not have made much impact as it has today. He added that the teachings of the Four Noble Truth that the historic Buddha taught that time are the core of the Buddhist tradition.
