At the 9th edition of the International Documentary and Short Film Festival of Kerala (IDSFFK 2016) inaugurated by the chief minister of the Kerala state, Shri Pinarayi Vijayan, in its capital city Thiruvananthapuram, three films related to Tibet issue were screened.
'All the films were made by Indian film makers. 34 minute documentary film "Rangzen" and 12 minute animation film "Our Fatherland" were about the firm determination of exiled Tibetan community in their struggle for free Tibet. The third was on the contributions of the Dalai Lama made towards the revival of ancient Indian knowledge and traditions particularly Buddhism,' says Tenzin Tsundue, a Tibetan poet, writer, and activist based in Dhramasala who attended the festival as a special guest.
The 5-day film festival was organized by the Kerala State Film Academy for the Department of Cultural Affairs, Government of Kerala from June 10 - 14, 2016.
Around 200 films were screened from 10 am - 11 pm at three different venues.
