Tenth Tibetan College Students' Conference Begins at Sarah Institute


ཐད་ཀར་ཕབ་ལེན་གྱི་དྲ་འབྲེལ།

Tibetan college students gathered for the 10th Tibetan College Students' Conference at the Sarah Institute of Tibetan Higher Studies in Dharamsala located within the Himachal state of Northern India.

The one week conference aims to discuss the role of Tibetan college students in strengthening and improving Tibetan Education. "We will be discussing on 16 different topics and hope to make a real impact in the Tibetan community through this conference," says Sonam Tsetan, an organizing member.

Tsewang Rigzin, who initiated the Tibetan College Students' Conference in 2006 was the special guest at the inauguration function, where he shared the initial aims of setting up this project and urged the students not to lose that focus.

Ven. Jamphel Drakpa, Principal of Sarah college and Mr. Tsering Samdup of Department of Education also spoke on the occasion, where over sixty Tibetan college students were in attendance.
