Wrap-up of Special Coordinator Sarah Sewall’s Visit to Dharamsala

US Special Coordinator for Tibetan Issues Sarah Sewall concluded her two-day visit to Dharmsala, the seat of the Tibetan exile central administration.

During the visit, Ms. Sewall met the Tibetan spiritual leader His Holiness the Dalai Lama and Tibetan Prime Minister Dr. Lobsang Sangay. She also met a number of Tibetan NGOs’ leaders such as presidents of Tibetan Women’s Association, Students for Free Tibet and Tibetan Youth Congress.

She also visited the Library of Tibetan Works and Archives and discuss on the subject of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama’s reincarnation. Geshe Kalsang Gyaltsen briefed Ms. Sewall and her colleagues on the historical processes of selecting the Dalai Lamas. She also visited the Tibetan Children’s Village in Dharmsala. US State Department’s press release said, “Under Secretary Sewall, in her role as Special Coordinator for Tibetan issues, travels to India and meets Tibetans from all walks of life to discuss ways to preserve Tibetan culture and promote educational opportunities for all Tibetans.”
