Around five thousand Tibetans in Dharamsala joined the official function of the Central Tibetan Administration to celebrate the 80th birthday of the Dalai Lama on July 6, 2015.
Lobsang Sangay, head of the Tibetan Administration in Exile, and Penpa Tsering, Speaker of the Tibetan Parliament read the official statement of the day to highlight the life and achievements of the Dalai Lama, and urged the Chinese government to solve Tibet's issue through dialogue with the representatives of Tibet's spiritual leader.
A photo exhibition of the Dalai Lama is also held at the Tibetan Children's Village School in Dharamsala to honor his birthday.
