PM Narendra Modi Attends Buddha Purnima Celebration

The Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, attended the Buddha Purnima Day Celebration 2015 at the Talkatora stadium in New Delhi on May 4, 2015.

"21st Century will never be a Century of Asia without Buddhism," says Prime Minister while addressing the celebration gathering, organized by the International Buddhist Confederation (IBC) with full support from the Ministry of Culture, Goverment of India.

Mr. Kiren Rijiju, Minister of State for Home Affairs was the Chairman of the organizing committee.

Apart from thousands of Buddhists from different parts of India including Tibetans who attended the celebration, the hosts of dignitaries were ministers, members of the parliament, ambassadors, and high ranking government officials.

The Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the Tibetan Parliament in Exile were among the honored guest of the celebration including Kalon of Department of Home and Department of Religion and Culture, CTA.
