Tibetans in Delhi Hold Prayer Service and Collect Donations for Nepal


ཐད་ཀར་ཕབ་ལེན་གྱི་དྲ་འབྲེལ།

April 27, 2015: On the third day of the massive earthquake that shook Nepal, India, and Tibet, the Tibetans residing in Delhi gathered in front of the two monasteries located at the Samyeling Tibetan Colony, Majnu ka Tilla, Delhi and offered prayer services for the victims of the devastating natural calamity.

The prayer service, jointly organized by the Tibetan Welfare Office in Delhi and the Samyeling Tibetan Colony Head was attended by hundreds of Tibetans living in the Delhi area who recited prayers of Zangchod Monlam (Aryabhadracharya Pranidhanaraja), Dhemon (Sukhavati Pranidhana), and concluded with a candle light vigil. During the day, donations were collected for the quake victims of Nepal.

According to the latest information, the death toll has topped 4000, while over 7000 have sustained injuries with varying severity at the hands of the disaster that shook the country two days ago.
