VOA Tibetan has an opening for a stringer reporter for New York/ New Jersey who can file radio news reports and conduct interviews. Candidates must be proficient in Tibetan, have at the minimum basic English language skills, and possess a clear voice and good diction. Ability or willingness to train to shoot video and send video clips using internet uploads is a must. Prior experience working as a journalist is not essential, but a high degree of interest in quality reporting and a passion for telling stories is of the utmost importance. Candidate must have knowledge of current affairs in Tibet and good contacts in the NYNJ Tibetan community and organizations. While all reporting will be done in Tibetan, candidates must be able to conduct brief interviews in English, use recording devices, and have basic computer skills. The job is a non-full time position but the position requires that the reporter must be able to cover important Tibetan and Tibet related events in New York City.
