The police authorities in Sog County have arrested seven Tibetan monks of Sog Tsenden Monastery, Nagchu Prefecture, Tibetan Autonomous Region last Saturday on March 14, 2015.
Ngawang Tharpa, a Tibetan based in Dharamsala tells VOA's Tibetan Service said that the reason for the monk's arrest has not been provided by the authorities.
According to the same source, the area of Sog where this recent incident occurred has been under heightened security with over 50 CCTV cameras installed in the premise of Tsenden monastery to monitor the monk's activities. This heavy restriction has subjected the monks to constant harassment.
Further details on the arrested monks current condition or wherabouts are unknown.
