Traditional Tibetan Medical Methods of Organ Cleansing
In this program, the Healthy Lifestyle invited Dr. Lobsang Dhondup Dripa-tsang to talk about traditional Tibetan medical practice of organ cleansing. Dr. Dripa-tsang says human body naturally cleanses its organs through bowel movement, urinating, sneezing, yawning, breathing, coughing, flatulating, ejaculation, and so on, and that blocking such processes causes health problems. Dr. Dripa-tsang also talks about coerced vomiting in the spring when the plants start to grow and colon cleansing in the fall when the leaves start to fall were advised by the traditional medical texts as a ways to boost well-being. However, according to WebMD, some modern studies find such practices to be potentially risky for health.
