The budget session of the 15th Tibetan Parliament in exile began today with the presentation of estimate budget for the financial year of 2015 to 2016 by the Kalon of Finance Department.
In his opening remarks, Penpa Tsering, Speaker of the Tibetan Administration in Exile talked about the parliament's deliberation on the situation inside Tibet to alleviate the sufferings of Tibetans inside Tibet. The Parliament also reaffirmed its Middle Way Approach as the only viable solution to resolve Tibet China conflict through peaceful dialogues.
The budget session is expected to discuss charter amendment regarding an additional parliamentarian from Jonang, a distinct school within Tibetan Buddhism.
The session is scheduled to end on March 28, 2015.
