US Special Coordinator for Tibetan Issues, Ms. Sarah Sewell visited Samyeling Tibetan Colony at Majnu-Ka-Tilla, Delhi on November 14, 2014.
Sewell accompanied by Kathleen Stephens, US Ambassador to India was given a warm welcome by the Representative of the Dalai Lama in New Delhi, Kasur Tenpa Tsering; Welfare Officer of Tibetans in Delhi, Mr. Lekey Dorje; and the Leader of Tibetan Colony, Mr. Karten Tsering.
Sewell was briefed on the health center of the colony that is managed by the Department of Health of the Central Tibetan Administration based in Dharamsala, Northern India.
The Tibetan Childrens Village day school children of Samyeling Colony presented a Tibetan cultural performance for the visitors.
Secretary Sewell is currently on her visit to India and Nepal to help improve the quality of health services within the Tibetan refugee community.
