Esukhia, a Dharamsala based NGO dedicated to the preservation of the Tibetan language through education, language services, and research & development marked its third anniversary by opening a language protection cafeteria on September 10, 2014.

"Within the cafeteria, individuals must speak only in Tibetan, or will be fined. Those that speak Tibetan will be served free tea," said Ngawang Thinley, Director of the Learning Center.

To mark their third anniversary, Esukhia invited Mr. Ngodup Tsering, Secretary of Education Department; Geshe Lhakdor, Director of Library of Tibetan Works and Archives; Geshe Lobsang Monlam, Founder of Monlam IT, and other intellectuals who are concerned about Tibetan language and culture.

The speakers covered topics ranging from language, translation, and colloqual language.

Esukhia also opened three classes for teacher's training in Tibetan as a second language, and a translation class.
