The Smuggled List of Tibetan Prisoners in Deyang Prison

Gonpo Trinley, a former political prisoner, currently based in Dharamsala, India talks to VOA Tibetan's Kunleng about how he smuggled out a list of other Tibetan prisoners incarcerated with him at deyang prison.

Trinley, originally from Karze Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, was imprisoned mainly for calling for the return of the Dalai Lama to Tibet, unity among Tibetans of three provinces, and freedom for Tibetans on June 20, 2008.

He was released from deyang prison, located near Chengdu, Sichuan Province after serving a term of two years and six months in different prisons.

The list Trinley smuggled contains the names, ages, sentence terms, and hometowns of the 45 prisoners incarcerated with him.
