Dharamsala Tibetans Hold Prayer and Candle Light Vigil in Solidarity with Denma


ཐད་ཀར་ཕབ་ལེན་གྱི་དྲ་འབྲེལ།

Tibetans in Dharamsala, northern India gathered in front of Martyrs Pillar near Tsuglakhang temple to stand in solidarity with the Tibetans in Denma with a prayer service and candle light vigil around the town on August 22, 2014.

Speaking at the gathering, Jigme Dorjee, an Executive Member of Central Derge Association shared the details of the grave situation inside Derge Denma, where peaceful protesters were killed by local police brutality.

Lobsang Yeshi, Member of Parliament was the chief guest at the prayer jointly organized by Central Derge Association and Regional Derge Association of Dharamsala. He called the situation in Denma critical and urged for International and Exile Tibetan's support.

Gu Chu Sum Tibetan Freedom Movement, based in Dharamsala also organized a candle light vigil in solidarity with Denma Tibetans on August 19, and the Exile parliament issued a press statement regarding the grave situation in Denma.
