Charity Culture in Tibetan Society: Importance and Impacts
There is an increase in charity organizations initiated by Tibetans in the west that provides a wide variety of assistance in the field of education, healthcare, and social issues. However, majority of the funding for Tibetan organizations come from western donors and foundations. There is still a very little Tibetan participation in the form of actual monetary donations to these charity work. Table Talk invites Dr. Kyizom Bhuti, Founder of Tibetan Elderly Help and Thupten Monlam, Co-Founder of Tibetan Children’s Project Canada to discuss the importance of charity culture in the Tibetan society and its impacts.
