21 volume biography of Juchen Thupten Namgyal, one of the longest serving exile cabinet member was released in Dharamsala, North India on April 5, 2014. At the behest of Dalai Lama, Juchen Namgyal started working on this book project from 1995 until his death for a period of 16 years. The book chronicles the history of modern Tibet with a focus on the major political and social changes wrought by China’s occupation of Tibet starting from early 1950s and late 1940s. Being an active participant as well as a witness to some of the major events of Tibet’s recent history, he has included his own biography as a witness of the unfolding events.
