China’s Air Pollution Hits Record in Shanghai

Hundreds of flights were delayed or cancelled on Friday in Shanghai as air pollution hit record levels and schools had to be closed down due to hazardous pollution. According to World Health Organization, air pollution is a major environmental risk to health. It is linked to lung cancer, heart disease, and respiratory problems. WHO reported that urban outdoor pollution causes 1.3 million deaths each year.
