Implication of China's Election to UN Human Rights Council

Amidst major protest by international rights groups and Tibetan NGOs and individuals alike, recently China got elected to the 47 member UN Human Rights Council for a period of three years. Critics argue that, the election of China which is one of the most significant violators of human rights in the world to a council that is designed to advance and protect human rights is a major black mark on the reputation and status of the world body in general and Human Rights Council in particular. Table Talk discusses implication of China's election to the advocacy work of Tibetan NGOs and the future work of right defenders. Guests: Tsering Tsomo, Tibetan Center for Human Rights and Democracy (TCHRD), Tenzin Jigme, ITSN
