Traditional Tibetan Medicine for Aspiring Tibetan Doctors

Interview with Tsewang Tamdin, chief medical officer, Tibetan medical center, Dharamsala, and a personal physician to the Dalai Lama. Dr. Tamdin said that an intensive six-years course is offered at the Center, at the end of which,  the student graduates as a full-fledged Tibetan medicube doctor. A total of 250 doctors have graduated from the Tibetan Medical Institute within the last five decades. Dr. Tamdin said that he finds many young people who are unaware of the importance of Tibetan medicinal study and the prospect for Tibetan medicine doctors, especially with exchange programs with universities like the Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, US.
