A UN study finds nearly a quarter of men in six countries in Asia “admitted” to having raped. The survey of over 10,000 men in Bangladesh, Cambodia, China, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea and Sri Lanka, says that many men considered it is their right to have sex with their female partners even without their consent. Although many Tibetans consider that women’s rights in the Tibetan society is greater than many other societies, it is not absent of rape perpetrations. According to exiled Tibetan news, just a month ago, two men in a Tibetan settlement allegedly raped or attempted to rape a five year old girl. Rape is a violent crime that leaves physical, emotional, and psychological scars in the victims.
