Religious Gathering in New York
Interview of Mr. Namgyal, one of the organizers of a large religious gathering in New York. Mr. Namgyal says that the New York- based Sakya Tsechen Buddhist Center is in the process of organizing a large religious gathering on June 22, 2013 in New York, where 2,000 people are expected to participate in a mass prayer for the Tibetans who sacrificed their lives for the Tibetan cause. Sakya Trizen, head of the Sakya Tibetan School of Buddhism, is also expected to give his teaching at the gathering. Sakya Rinpoche has given public Buddhist teachings to the Tibetan communities in New York within the last few months, and has urged Tibetans to remain united under the guidance of His Holiness the Dalai Lama.
