Tibetans residing in the New York area attended a screening on Tibet-related movie, “A Girl From China” on June 1, 2014.
Sonam Tseten, a 34 year old Tibetan film-maker from Delhi who had his debut as a filmmaker in 2006 with the movie, "Tsampa to Pizza" introduced the movie to the Tibetan audience.
The film tells the story of Que, a young Chinese girl from Shanghai, who during her holidays in India meets a young Tibetan boy who helps her discover about Tibet.
Tseten says that the relationship between the main characters of the film demonstrates the people to people contact and .
A number of audience interviewed by VOA's Tibetan Service applauded the movie’s message and its technical quality.
