Tenzin Norbu left Tibet in 1987 with the goal of studying Tibetan medicine in India, but one of the first people he met in Dharamsala was Temba Chöphel, his late Thangka teacher, and the rest as they say is history. Norbu has been a practicing Thangka artist for more than two decades, becoming the Thangka instructor at Dharamsala’s Norbulingka Institute in 2007.
