Dalai Lama to Address Himachal Pradesh University in Shimla


ཐད་ཀར་ཕབ་ལེན་གྱི་དྲ་འབྲེལ།

The Dalai Lama reached Shimla, the capital of northern Indian state of Himachal Pradesh to pay a two-day visit to the city from March 18 to 2014.

The Dalai Lama is scheduled to address the convocation of Himachal Pradesh University on the morning of March 18, 2014.

Top Indian government officials, including Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh and Governor Urmila Singh, will be present on the occasion.

The Vice-Chancellor of Himachal Pradesh University Prof. A. D. N. Bajpai had made the request to the Dalai Lama to pay a visit last year through Losang Sangey, the head of Tibetan administration in exile.

The Dalai Lama is scheduled to visit Jonang monastery, inaugurate a temple at Dorje Drak monastery, and give a teaching at the Central School for Tibetans during the same day.

He leaves Shimla for New Delhi on the evening of March 19, where he is scheduled to give a talk on ‘Success, Ethics and Happiness’ at Lady Shri Ram College for Women on March 20, 2014.
