Dharamsala Tibetans Commemorate 26th Noble Peace Prize Day

The Central Tibetan Administration (CTA) commemorated the 26th anniversary of the conferment of Noble Peace Prize upon the Dalai Lama and the 67th World Human Rights Day at the main temple of Tsuklakhang in Dharamsala, Northern India on December 10, 2015.

Mrs. Sarwin Choudhary, former minister and present MLA of the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh was the chief guest at the function along with CTA leaders, staff members, heads of Dharamsala organizations including ITFA advisor Mr. Ram Swaroop, and nearby Tibetan students and hundreds of general public.

The chief guest honored the Dalai Lama for being the messenger of peace, love, and compassion. Choudhary further warned China to free Tibet and build a good relation with India to promote a mutual zone of tranquility.

The Kashag(Cabinet) of the Tibetan Parliament expressed deep gratitude to the Dalai Lama and appealed international bodies to put pressure on China to release the Panchen Lama and all other political prisoners.

On the occasion, Lobsang Sangay, head of the Tibetan Administration in Exile, awarded 25 years of service certificates to several staff of the Tibetan Medical and Astrology Institue, and Speaker Penpa Tsering inaugurated the Department of International Relations' published book, 'The Tibetan Panchen Lama: The Reincarnation Which is Reinvented as Political Tool.'
