China has released a Tibetan political prisoner of Kardze Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture two years before the scheduled release date on November 17, 2014.
Lobsang Palden, 33, a monk of Bheri monastery was arrested in June of 2008 and sentenced to a nine year prison term for holding a peaceful protest where he called for the return of the Dalai Lama to Tibet, and freedom for Tibetans.
Gompo Trinley, a former political prisoner who recently escaped to exile in Dharamsala describes Lobsang Palden as a courageous individual, whose dedication to perform the required hard labor work as an inmate has led to his early release.
