According to Weibo post by local Tibetans, four Tibetan youths were severely beaten by over twenty Chinese soldiers in Yushul Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture on the night of September 22.

The youths in Chumarleb county were driving at night, when their car’s headlight fell directly on a group of drunk Chinese soldiers which included a higher ranking soldier.

Weibo posts describe the officer as having become angry and ordered his men to stop the vehicle and beat the youths.

Dawa Tsering, Representative of Office of Tibet, Taiwan tells VOA that incidents such as these aren't uncommon, and that Chinese soldiers beating Tibetans had occurred several times in the past in that particular prefecture.

Two of the four young men beaten are currently said to be in critical condition.
