The Tibetan Parliament in Exile elected Mr Kargyu Dhondup, former Auditor General of the Central Tibetan Administration, as the new Chief Justice Commissioner of the Tibetan Supreme Justice Commission on September 13, 2014.

Mr. Pema Jungney, former Speaker and Parliamentarian, and Kargyu Dhondup, former Auditor General of CTA were named as the nominees, as proposed by a 3-member selection committee of former Chief Justice Commissioner Lobsang Dhargyal, Kasur Kirti Rinpoche, and Kasur Rinchen Khando, which was constituted by a committee of Chief Justice Commissioner, Speaker and Deputy Speaker of Tibetan Parliament, and head of the Tibetan Administration in Exile.

Mr. Kargyu Dhondup was born in Ngari in 1957, and followed his family to exile two years later in 1959. Dhondup joined CTA in May 1980 as a junior clerk and served till September 3 of this year in different capacities including the Auditor General of CTA.

The Tibetan Parliament is scheduled to elect the Auditor General of CTA on the 15th, and Public Service Commissioner on the 17th of this month.
