Geshe Lhakdor, Director of the Library of Tibetan Works and Archives [LTWA], Dharamsala gave a talk on "Youth Leadership: Ethics in Personal Development" at Tibet House, New Delhi on August 2, 2014.

The talk was organized by Empowering the Vision Program, an NGO in Delhi, where over 70 young college going Tibetans and Indians attended the talk that lasted for two hours.

Geshe Lhakdor began the talk by drawing the attention of the audience to the most difficult part in the life of a person i.e. birth and death. "Not money, lots of friends and relatives, name and fame, but most important thing needed at that point of time is somebody's genuine care, affection, and love. This is secular ethics based on reality and has nothing to do with religion," says Geshe Lhakor.

He also said that secular ethics will help reduce the problems that are caused by modern lifestyles and quoted the Tibetan saying "There is a Tibetan saying, pulling the green seedling will not help grow faster. If you want it grow quickly and with that anxiety if you pull it, you just kill it," says Geshe Lhakdor. Again referring to modern fast lifestyle he said, "One should think over what was it that made you busy, in order to save your health and peace of mind,"

Based in the capital city of India, "Empowering the Vision Project" headed by Augatsang Youdon, a member of Tibetan parliament in exile was founded in 2007.
