Tibetans in Delhi observed Saka Dawa [the day of Buddha's conception, enlightenment and passing away according to Tibetan moon calendar] at three different places in Delhi, India.
At the Tibet House, the Cultural Centre of the Dalai Lama, its director Geshe Doji Damdul led the assembly of Indian and foreign guests and public to a three hour program of meditation on four seals [impermanence, suffering, emptiness and peace] which was followed by recitation of Sutras in different languages, again followed by meditation on emptiness and compassion.
At another place in Delhi, the Tibetans in Samyeling Tibetan Colony gathered in front of two small monasteries and offered prayers and prostrations, and practiced the act of giving by distributing lunch and cold drinks to Indian public, while setting free, birds and fish bought from the local markets.
Tibetans living in South Delhi observed Saka Dawa by inviting the representative of the Dalai Lama, Kasur Tempa Tsering and organizing a program at the Japan Temple in New Delhi.
