TCV Includes Human Rights as Part of Curriculum for Middle School

The Association of Human rights and Tolerance, an NGO based in Italy has translated a pictoral booklet on Universal Declaration of Human Rights (Abridged for Youth) into Tibetan, along with a DVD and Educator's Guide to make Tibetan youth more aware of human rights.

Fiorella Cerchiara, the President of the Association said that they take Youthforhumanrights as their main project to help youngsters become more aware of the basic human rights to eliminate human rights violations globally. The booklet is available in 18 languages before, with Tibetan becoming the 19th published language.

In the year 2010, Association of Human Rights and Tolerance offered Jetsun Pema, younger sister of the Dalai Lama with the human rights award for her lifetime achievements in protecting rights of children.

They are starting their work from TCV by introducing it in the curriculum of Middle School educational program, and is expected to expand to monasteries and settlements.

The Association of Human Rights and Tolerance have reached many countries in Africa under a program called United-Africa. The TCV program is the beginning of a United-Tibet project.
