The Dalai Lama met with reporters of Voice of America, Radio Free Asia and Voice of Tibet on the last day of the Mind and Life XXVI dialogue between a group of scientists and monastic scholars at the Drepung Monastery in Mundgod, Karnataka.

The buddhist leader spoke on the main purpose of holding such a dialogue and said "since the two different streams of learning are exploring and establishing the reality of phenomena that can help alleviate the suffering of the world," he has put many efforts to develop a method to educate "Secular Ethics" among wider sections of people, especially non-believers. The spiritual leader further elaborated the purpose of holding such dialogues by saying that such meetings benefit both scientists and Buddhists community alike.

The Dalai Lama urged the Buddhist community, especially the followers of Tibetan Buddhism to study science in order to better explore the reality of material world. He spoke on the importance of learning Tibetan language as no other language can explain the nature of mind i.e. psychology.

While advising the Chinese Buddhist, the Dalai Lama urged them to study the works of Nagarjuna and Chandakirti which are already in Chinese translations and pay less attention to Buddhist rituals.

The Dalai Lama left for Mumbai in the morning and will be attending a program at Jaipur on 24th and expected to reach Dharamsala on 25th.
