A study by Central Party School scholars says Chinese government’s economic development policies in Tibet Autonomous Region have failed to generate sustainable growth of local economy.
Jin Wei, director of ethnic religious studies at the Central Party School, called for a policy review of aid programs in Tibet at a forum on ethnic minority development hosted by Minzu University in Beijing on Saturday.
According to Jin, central government's failure to account for cultural contexts in aid projects to Tibet has led to an ineffecient sustainable economic growth in the region.
Scholars have pointed out implementation of policies taking into account local conditions and participations.
