A teenage Tibetan girl was sentenced to 3 years in prison for staging a solitary China protest in Kardze (Ch: Ganzi) region of eastern Tibet on June 24.
Jigme Dolma, 17, was detained after shouting slogans calling for return of the Dalai Lama and freedom for Tibet. She was known to have been severely injured due to police beatings, according to sources in the region.
Dolma was sentenced to imprisonment on August 25.
