Interview with Venerable Tenzin Deshek, Spiritual Director, Losel Matre Tibetan Buddhist Center in Birmingham, AL. Ven. Deshek said that this current Tibetan month, saga dawa, being the holiest month in the Tibetan Calendar, presents the most opportune time to study and practice the Buddha Dharma, because of the extensive merits such practices bring. Relating the twelve main events of Buddha Shakyamuni’s life, he said that these days, the youth have easy access to any books, internet, and that it is important to understand the teachings of the Buddha to properly practice it in one’s daily life.
