Discussion with Tashi Wangchuk, Tsering Kyi, and Sonam Yangzom of VOA's Tibetan Service. When asked their views on the recent Blizzard, its impact, and how each contributed to making life easier at work, Tsering Kyi said that she is fondly reminded of her snowy days in Tibet when it was always welcomed in the highest of spirits, with the only concern being the well-being of livestock. Sonam Yangzom too said that with the snowfall came back to her mind all the Tibetan songs that glorifies the snow. Also, she brought up the case of the sudden snow and ice conditions prior to the much-talked about blizzard and how the public psyche is too dependent on the media coverages, and not using their judgement and common sense. Tashi Wangchuk highlighted the preparedness of the public and private groups to keep the roads and neighborhoods safe and as convenient as possible during the blizzard.
