Dalai Lama to Inaugurate Delhi Tibet House Golden Jubilee Celebration

A press briefing was held at the Tibet House, Cultural Center of the Dalai Lama in New Delhi, where four-day Golden Jubilee Celebration was declared and will be inaugurated by the Dalai Lama on December 9, 2016.

"His Holiness has kindly agreed to inaugurate the Golden Jubilee celebration of Tibet House and will give a public talk on 'Meaning of Life and Secular Ethics' and will bless the launch of 'Masters Course on Nalanda Buddhist Philosophy' in presence of around 10,000 people at Thayagraj stadium", says Geshe Dorji Damdul, the director of Tibet House at the press briefing.

The online course in English is offered to participant practitioners with keen interest to delve deeper into Buddhist subjects studied and practiced in the tradition of Nalanda and Tibetan Monastic Universities.

The masters course has received an overwhelming response. "There are still emails pouring in showing sustained interest in this course from across the globe. We are quite overwhelmed by the response. 300 to 400 have already registered from around 50 countries", says Geshe Doji Damdul.

Shri Najeeb Jung, the Lt. Governor of Delhi; Mr. Kiren Rijiju, the Union Minister of State for Home Affairs; Dr. Mahesh Sharma, the Union Minister of State for Culture & Tourism; Dr. Lobsang Sangay, the Sikyong of Central Tibetan Administration and many others have confirmed to attend the inaugural ceremony of the four-day golden jubilee celebration.
