Tibet's spiritual leader returned to Dharamsala, his seat in Northern India, after a month long visit to Ladakh in the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir on August 25, 2016.

Speaker Khenpo Sonam Tenphel and Lobsang Sangay, head of the Tibetan Administration in Exile were among the people at the Gaggal airport to receive the Dalai Lama.

The Dalai Lama stayed for two weeks retreat, while giving teachings, visiting schools and monasteries including a few mosques, and offered his promise to return to Ladakh next year during a farewell lunchoen provided by the organizing committee of his visit.

The nobel laureate is scheduled to give a four-day teaching to his Asian followers starting August 29 at Tsuklagkhang, the main temple in Dharamsala.
