Exiled Tibetans, with their faces painted in the red and yellow colors of the Tibetan flag, charged the Chinese embassy in New Delhi on Monday.

The Tibetan Youth Congress President along with 13 youth activists were arrested by Indian police for shouting slogans calling for the return of the Dalai Lama to Tibet and independence for Tibet. They are currently being held at the Chanakyapuri Police Station in Delhi.

TYC in its press release said the protest was held to show solidarity with the Tibetan self-immolators and student protesters in Tibet.

More than 72 Tibetans have burned themselves and the recent self-immolations coincide with China's 18th Party Congress in Beijing and the country's once-in-a-decade leadership transition.

China has long accused Tibetan exiles of self-immolating as part of a separatist struggle, denouncing them as terrorists.
